- NewAsianCuisine.com: Type in a zip code to find nearby stores. One of the best search tools for locating an Asian market.
- Thaifoodandtravel.com: Chinese and Southeast Asian markets listing with some commentary by Thai cookbook author and cooking teacher Kasma Loha-unchit.
- ThaiTable.com: Search by zip code.
- KoreanFeast.com: Listing of Korean markets in the U.S.
- Merry's Kitchen of Indonesian Cuisine: Simple but robust listing from a food-loving, Jakarta-based florist
- GaramChai.com: South Asian markets listing grouped by state.
Asian market chains:
- 99 Ranch: The standard for pan-Asian markets with locations in many Asian communities.
- H-mart (Han Ah Rheum/Super-H/H-Mart): Korean supermarket chain with locations in NY, NJ, PA, CO, IL, MD, CA, WA, CA, and DC. They are expanding to keep an eye out.
- Mitsuwa: They took over the Yaohan locations in the U.S. with stores in California, Illinois and New Jersey.
- Nijiya: Great Japanese market with organic produce grown on their own farms, private label ingredients of high quality and excellent California-grown rice. They have an online store too.
- Marukai: A membership type store that focuses on value -- like a Japanese Costco. Locations in Hawaii and California.
- Uwajimaya: Terrific Japanese market that carries some Chinese and Southeast Asian ingredients. Location are in Washington and Oregon.
- Shun Fat Supermarket and Hong Kong Supermarket are also excellent chain supermarkets with Chinese and Southeast Asian inventories. They do not have sites at this point.
