Hello and thanks for being interested in taking a virtual class with me, Andrea Nguyen, the James Beard Award-winning cookbook author and cooking teacher. I hope we can cook up some fun and tasty food soon.
I design my classes for cooks to explore Asian ingredients, cooking techniques and culture. The purpose of each class is to help you develop your Asian cooking chops in the comfort of your own home -- the best situation. I've taught in-person and virtual cooking classes for over twenty years and have written seven acclaimed cookbooks.

General FAQ
I have cookbooks by Andrea so should I take a class? The classes bring Andrea's books alive and tailored to you because you’ll be cooking in your own kitchen! Over time, Andrea also tweaks certain recipes to make them easier without compromising outcome, or to make them healthier. Many people who have Andrea’s books also take her classes.
I’m interested in the topic but can’t make the class as schedule. Will it be repeated? Unless a topic is super popular, or something strange happens to prevent the class from happening, it’s likely to not repeat soon after its initial run. If you can’t attend a class, you’ll have the playback to review and can always ask Andrea questions via email.
Are class registrations refundable? Unfortunately, class registrations are not refundable. They are recorded and all registrants receive the detailed class materials plus access to the playback. If you cannot attend the scheduled livestream, you will have the recording to watch. You can always email me follow-up questions.
Are recipes vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and/or dairy-free friendly? Check with individual classes to make sure your dietary and culinary interests are met. Andrea always offers extra tips during class to adapt recipes for a broad range of cooks.
Technical FAQ
I hate Zoom or have not ever been on Zoom. What can I do to make sure I don't miss class? Practice before class begins: Click on the Zoom link provided in the class materials PDF. If you don't have the Zoom app installed, select “Join from your browser” (in blue, near the bottom of the screen). You may be asked to enter your name. Eventually, you'll get to a screen that says something about the host hasn't started the meeting yet. Congrats, you got in!
Can two or more people take the class on one device? Theoretically yes. But if your budget allows you to purchase separate tickets, that’s the most direct way to support Andrea. If such cost is prohibitive, purchase a single ticket.
Does everyone cook along? Do I have to turn my camera on? No. It’s up to you and depends on how you want to learn plus your situation. Cook along or not. Have your camera on or not. Andrea welcomes all levels of participation.
After taking the class and/or watching the playback, I have a follow-up question for Andrea. What do I do? Andrea is just an email away.
Are private, custom classes available? Yes. To inquire, get in touch with Andrea.
And, feel free to reach out with any question not already covered!
